Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locality Lead Midwife (Midwifery Team Coordinator) to join the Maternity Team at Wirral Women and Children's Hospital in a full time post.

Responsibilities
  • Lead teams of Continuity of Care and Community staff, operationally manage these staff, and participate in the care of women in caseloads.
  • Have oversight and responsibility for community hubs and venues delivering care.
  • Work within the wider maternity management team and closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide safe, high quality care.
  • Provide leadership, clinical advice, and optimise day-to-day running of clinical activity across CofC/Community teams and the wider Maternity Team.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Governance Team, Consultant Teams, the Consultant Midwife, and the senior management team to manage risk within maternity services.
  • Act as a role model and expert practitioner to develop midwifery and obstetric-led services.
  • Accept operational responsibility and accountability for teams and provide managerial and professional support to the maternity service; undertake delegated responsibility in the absence of the Matron.
  • Participate in an on-call rota; cover both weekdays and weekends.
Requirements
  • Must have a UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Experience in leading Continuity of Care and Community teams and providing leadership and guidance on clinical practice.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with Clinical Governance, Consultant teams, and senior management to ensure safe, efficient service delivery.
