Job summary

SEGA Europe, based in West London, is hiring a Localisation QA Language Specialist to maintain linguistic quality across SEGA titles. You will work with LQA Project Managers and the wider Localisation team to ensure translations meet standards and player expectations, across in-game code and localised assets.

You will also support AI translation pipelines, VO localisation workflows, vendor guidance, and create language documentation while ensuring cultural accuracy and timely delivery.

Qualifications

  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative and with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent linguistic knowledge and deep understanding of your contracted language.
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of AI tools.
  • Understanding of linguistic trends and consumer expectations of the target market.
  • Knowledge of SEGA IP.
  • Understanding of first party naming conventions.
  • Proficient working knowledge of the software tools in use at SEGA (test case management, text editing tools and general office software).
  • Working knowledge of CAT tools (e.g. memoQ) and familiarity with AI-driven Localisation and LQA solutions.
  • Clear, concise and professional communicator, both in English and your contracted language.
  • Flexible and adaptable to different LQA tasks and projects.
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the role and the company, capable of motivating and inspiring others.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure localisation quality meets company standards by proactively reviewing translations, edits (including defect fixes), and validating that the product meets quality expectations at all milestones (including game code reviews and confidence checks). Drive continuous quality improvement by proposing optimisations, providing clear feedback, and escalating risks to project management and senior stakeholders as required. Conduct post-release user sentiment analysis and monitor localisation performance for the assigned language.
  • Support the AI translation pipeline by preparing prompts, reviewing and validating AI-generated translations, and collaborating with localisation project management to drive continuous improvement. Stay up to date with emerging localisation technologies and proactively propose innovative solutions.
  • Support voice-over (VO) localisation workflows, including script review, casting (database and live sessions), attendance at recording sessions, sample reviews, and validation of correct in-game implementation of audio assets.
  • Provide linguistic, cultural, and regional expertise to the wider business, including Development Studios and SEGA territories, to ensure localisation aligns with market expectations.
  • Provide vendor support and linguistic guidance to test teams, including IP-related support, to prevent localisation issues and minimise rework at later development stages. Ensure consistency of localisation standards and processes across vendors.
  • Support urgent translation and high-risk compliance requests, ensuring fast and accurate delivery where immediate implementation is required.
  • Create and maintain language-specific documentation for Development and wider business use, including glossaries and related linguistic assets.
  • Review and edit marketing assets to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness, as required.

Working Model: Hybrid (3 days in Studio per week)

Role Summary

As a Localisation QA Language Specialist, you will play a key role in proactively maintaining the linguistic quality and accuracy of SEGA titles, ensuring localisation meets the company’s standards and player expectations.
