Job Description:

PeopleCert is looking for a Localisation Associate who will be willing to relocate to Athens, Greece.

PeopleCert is hiring a Localisation Associate to manage the end-to-end translation of Business and IT products from English into Chinese. This includes assets such as official books, exams, and training materials.

You’ll oversee translation projects, ensuring high-quality consistent deliverables by coordinating with freelancers, Language Service Providers (LSPs), and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Your responsibilities will include translating, editing, proofreading, onboarding external partners, and optimizing workflows for accuracy and efficiency.

Working closely with the Localisation Lead, Enterprise Project Manager, and internal teams, you'll ensure seamless project execution while serving as the main point of contact for feedback and issue resolution.

As a Localisation Associate, your tasks will include the following:

  • Create, manage, and implement translation projects within XTM TMS (Translation Management System), ensuring that deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met while working closely with the Enterprise Project Manager.
  • Identify and implement AI tools (e.g., machine translation, language models) to improve workflow efficiency, reduce manual tasks, and maintain high-quality outputs.
  • Responsible for translation efforts for a variety of content types from English into Chinese, ensuring consistency and quality across all products, while working closely with content teams.
  • Perform file alignments, update and maintain translation memories, and prepare files for translation to ensure efficient use of resources and content reusability.
  • Source, onboard, and manage external translators, Language Service Providers, and SMEs, building strong working relationships to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. Provide clear and concise briefings to ensure suppliers understand project scope, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Conduct rigorous quality checks on translated materials to ensure accuracy, cultural relevance, and technical precision, while working closely with the Localisation Lead to uphold PeopleCert’s quality standards.
  • Act as the central point of communication for feedback, proactively addressing issues and escalating them to the Localisation Lead and Enterprise Project Manager when needed.
  • Ensure all administrative duties, including file management, reporting, and supplier communications, are handled accurately and on time, while collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure smooth project workflows.

What we look for:

  • Native or equivalent fluency in Chinese and English (LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be also a plus), with strong translation skills from English into Chinese.
  • Experience working in a Language Service Provider (LSP) environment or a translation function, with a focus on managing translation or localization projects from English into Chinese. Experience in the professional education sector is preferred.
  • Academic background in Translation Studies is desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting time and budget requirements, working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Use CAT tools, Machine Translation (MT), and TMS (experience with XTM is advantageous).
  • Experience in handling various file formats (MS Office, InDesign, etc.) with a solid understanding of file engineering within the context of localization. ECDL Advanced level certification is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the ability to build successful relationships with external suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision, while also collaborating closely with relevant stakeholders.

What we offer:

  • Competitive remuneration package
  • Work in an international, dynamic, and fun atmosphere
  • Two free vouchers for all certifications from PeopleCert's Portfolio per year for all employees
  • Complimentary coffee and tea in all our premises
  • Huge learning experience in using best practices and a global environment
  • Constant personal and professional development
  • Relocation package
