Role Overview

The Coordinator will manage environmental quality and certification programs within the LEQ department, working closely with the Local Environmental Quality Manager to ensure effective delivery, stakeholder engagement, and supervision of departmental officers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordination: Manage resources and field officers to deliver programs effectively within budget and deadlines.
  2. Project Management: Lead planning, implementation, and reporting of environmental initiatives.
  3. Surveying and Certifications: Coordinate programs like Blue Flag, Green Flag, and cleanliness surveys across boroughs.
  4. Community Engagement: Promote community participation and expand geographical coverage of sustainability initiatives.
  5. Communications: Serve as the primary contact, respond to enquiries, represent the charity at events, and prepare content for various platforms.
  6. Research Support: Assist in research and policy analysis related to environmental sustainability.
  7. Authority and Decision-Making: Manage stakeholder communications, oversee work commissions, and support marketing efforts.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential: Relevant third-level qualification or 3 years' equivalent experience; at least 1 year in surveying/auditing; 2 years in program delivery; 1 year in staff supervision.

Desirable: Experience in data collection, analysis, reporting, voluntary sector, or local government roles.

Skills & Requirements
  • Strong ICT skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Full driving license and access to transport.
  • Understanding of environmental issues; knowledge of behavior change principles is a plus.
Additional Information
  • Occasional travel within Northern Ireland and flexible working hours.
  • Salary: £30,328.
  • Contract: Permanent, subject to funding.
