Job Description:

Charity Jobs NI (part of the Happy Jobs group) is partnering with Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful to recruit a proactive, organized, and dedicated Local Environmental Quality Coordinator. This role involves coordinating environmental quality and certification programs, managing stakeholder engagement, supervising staff, and promoting sustainability initiatives within Northern Ireland.

About Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful: A charity committed to enhancing the environment and communities through initiatives that promote sustainable living and a cleaner, greener future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage resources and deliver environmental programs effectively within budget and deadlines.
  • Lead planning, implementation, and reporting of initiatives.
  • Coordinate certification programs like Blue Flag and Green Flag, and conduct cleanliness surveys.
  • Develop community participation and promote award programs.
  • Act as the primary contact, handle enquiries, represent the charity, and prepare content for various platforms.
  • Support research and policy analysis related to environmental sustainability.
  • Manage stakeholder communications and assist in marketing efforts.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Essential: Relevant degree or 3 years' experience, with at least 1 year in surveying/auditing, 2 years in program delivery, and 1 year staff supervision.
  • Desirable: Experience in data analysis, voluntary sector, or local government roles.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Strong ICT skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Full driving license and access to transport.
  • Knowledge of environmental issues; behavior change knowledge is a plus.
  • Effective team and independent working skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Additional Requirements: Occasional travel within Northern Ireland and flexibility for outside standard hours. Business hours: 8am-6pm, core hours 10am-4pm, Monday-Friday.

Salary: £30,328

Contract: Permanent, subject to funding.
