Local CDL A or CDL B Driver

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Driver, referred to as a Logistics Specialist II (with or without a Crane Operator certification), include delivering building materials to customers' businesses or job sites. Drivers operate within a maximum 200-mile radius of their home branch, with all deliveries originating and ending at the branch, and no overnight stays required.

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Lead job site safety by operating equipment according to local, state, and federal laws
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Validate and confirm inventory loaded on the truck, comparing purchase orders, signing delivery tickets, and verifying addresses on delivery tickets. Obtain routing information before leaving the branch.
• Conduct a job site inspection, document any existing damage to lawns, landscaping, driveways, and note the location of power lines, sprinklers, septic tanks, mailboxes, fences, etc.
• Capture pictures of all delivered building products in accordance with company policy.

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Ability to load and unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs. each, off a straight bed truck. Experience with forklifts or Moffett is a plus.
• Safe driving record with no hit & runs, DWI, or DUI convictions within the last three years. Recent accidents or violations will be reviewed by HR and management.
• Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are a plus.
• Experience in distribution is a plus.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• Minimum age of 18; if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials, minimum age is 21.
• Pass a drug test, possess a current DOT medical certificate, and have no positive drug tests in the last 12 months.
• Be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S., and pass an E-Verify check.
