Job description

We’re Feros Care, and we’re pleased to meet you.

And what we care most about is helping people live healthier, happier, better-connected lives.

Since 1990, we’ve been making it happen, both for older Australians and people with disability.

We are proud to be Game Changers, Dream Makers, Kindness Champions, Culture Shapers, Vibrant Creators. It’s not just us who think so; we’ve won many awards on the local and international stage for our approach.

We actively seek to include, welcome, and value the unique contributions of all people. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from cultural and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, LGBTIQA+SB communities, and people with disability.

As a Local Area Coordinator, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a fantastic team across our Port Adelaide, Salisbury, and Gawler offices.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be the heartbeat of the NDIA in your local community. Your role will focus on empowering people with disability, their families, and carers to build, pursue, and fulfill their goals and aspirations, exercising choice and control while engaging with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Your work will include:

  • Person and Community-Centered Approach: Assist participants and people with a disability to link and engage with mainstream and community supports, supporting scheme access where appropriate. Help participants identify and develop goals, emphasizing strengths-based practices to empower individuals.
  • Place-Based Engagement: Commit to meeting participants and people with disability in their communities, living, meeting, working, and gathering in the places that matter to them. This role is not a work-from-home position; it requires active engagement within the community.
  • Relationship and Partnership Building: Develop strong, positive community partnerships that support capacity building and ensure accessible and inclusive communities. Work collaboratively with local communities and mainstream services to raise awareness and become more inclusive of the needs of people with disability.
  • Strengths-Based and Outcomes-Focused: Utilize a strengths-based approach to help participants understand how their funding plan works and explore ways to achieve their goals. Work within a place-based framework to ensure services are tailored to each community's unique needs and strengths.
  • Travel and Flexibility: This role involves travel within our service regions, including the City of Playford, Salisbury, Tea Tree Gully, Port Adelaide Enfield, Barossa, Light & Lower North regions, with Feros Care LAC offices located in Salisbury, Port Adelaide, and Gawler. Flexibility to work additional hours outside of core business hours may be required to achieve participant outcomes and community engagement commitments. There will be an expectation to work at least 1 day per week in our Salisbury office, with flexibility for Port Adelaide and/or Gawler on other days. We operate within a hot-desking environment and actively engage and co-locate in our communities.

Who we’re looking for:

  • A demonstrated key contributor to a positive team culture.
  • Great people skills, excellent written communication, and strong time management skills.
  • Experience in meeting and exceeding KPIs and outcomes.
  • Adaptability and ability to cope with a fast-paced environment where no 2 days are the same.
  • A person-centered approach when working with vulnerable people from diverse backgrounds, focused on empowering individuals to exercise choice and control, delivering positive outcomes, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding professional integrity.
  • Relevant qualifications in disability, allied health, community services, or a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with people living with disability in a planning/assessment role or lived experience with disability or caring for someone with disability.

What we can do for you:

  • Salary banding from $80,861 - $86,849 depending on relevant qualifications and years of experience.
  • Not-for-profit salary packaging (up to $15,899 per annum tax-free) and Meal and Entertainment Packaging (up to $2,650 per annum tax-free).
  • Daily travel allowance ($25 per day).
  • Extensive discounts on everyday purchases, financial tips and services, and wellness programs through our employee benefit platform ForME.
  • We will provide you with 1 WFH day per week and access to flexible work arrangements in line with Fair Work Australia criteria. Our work hours are 8.30am – 4.36pm or 9am – 5.06pm, or a mix.
  • Extensive training, development, and career opportunities, including support for additional relevant qualifications and certificates.
  • Private Health Insurance Discount (Medibank).
  • Employee Referral Program.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Paid parental leave for eligible employees.
  • All technology and equipment provided.
  • Dedicated, supportive managers who care about your wellbeing.

How to Apply:

Please submit a cover letter addressing all of the “Who we are looking for” criteria, along with a current, relevant resume. Applications close COB 03.06.2025.

If you live with disability and require support to submit your application or wish to discuss accessibility requirements, please contact our Recruitment Advisor, Mariana Anderson, at talentacquistion@feroscare.com.au.
