Loads Engineer - SAFRAN Engineering Services UK

To support the growth of SAFRAN Engineering Services in the UK, we are seeking a Loads Engineer to join our expanding team. Our customer has indicated increased activity during the summer.

Responsibilities
  • Perform load calculations for sizing studies of future aircraft and major MODs.
  • Determine:
    • Ground loads (Landings, Brakings, Turns, Rollings, etc.)
    • Flight loads (Longitudinal and Lateral Manoeuvres, Load Alleviation Functions, Gust, Failure cases, etc.)
    • Component loads: calculation of loads on specific parts (NCF, HTP, Ailerons, Pylon, etc.)
    • Aeroelastics calculations (Flutter, control surface limit cycle oscillations)
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering
  • Technical skills in:
    • Flight Physics, Flight Loads, Ground Loads, Aeroelastics, Aerodynamics
  • Understanding of aircraft behavior and physical principles
  • Coding skills in VBA and Python
  • Proficiency with Matlab
  • Strong planning and scheduling abilities across multiple modules
  • Effective communication skills to clearly define expectations and facilitate understanding
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate within multicultural teams
