Job Description:

Overview

Stirling Dynamics is recruiting a Loads and Aeroelastics Engineer to join the Control, Simulation and Dynamics group. The capability group handles modeling and analysis including system performance, control theory, fluid dynamics, and structural dynamics. The Loads and Aeroelastics sub-team performs activities such as:

  • Computation of ground and flight loads
  • Vibration analysis
  • Flight physics activities
  • Support to certification
  • Prediction and analysis of flutter
  • Load alleviation functions

The team works on various projects from concept trades, design, to certification and testing, serving large aerospace OEMs and start-ups in emerging areas like eVTOLs and urban air mobility. This role offers the opportunity to work with highly experienced professionals and develop your career in aerospace engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and verify models for aircraft loads during the design process
  • Support testing by creating test requirements, procedures, and analyzing data
  • Validate and calibrate models
  • Write technical reports
  • Contribute to in-house loads tools development
  • Manage multiple tasks within deadlines and budgets
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders
  • Deliver high-standard engineering solutions
  • Adhere to quality practices and procedures
  • Ensure task objectives are met

Qualifications

  • Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Post-graduate qualification (Master’s or Doctorate) is desirable

  • Understanding of modal analysis in aerospace
  • Experience with analysis software (Nastran, Ansys, etc.)
  • Proficiency in MATLAB
  • Technical reporting skills
