Job summary

Panda is seeking an experienced Loading Shovel & 360 Grab Operator to join our busy Sheffield recycling facility. You will operate mobile plant to move, load and sort waste materials safely, maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

In this hands-on role you will perform daily safety checks, use forklifts and other mobile plant, and contribute to efficient material recovery while working within a team to uphold site procedures and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a loading shovel and a 360 grab.
• Valid plant operator tickets/licences held.
• Understanding of mobile plant and workplace safety procedures.
• Comfortable working in busy waste/recycling environments.
• Maintains high housekeeping standards and reliability.
• Safety-conscious and able to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate loading shovels, 360 grabs, forklifts and other mobile plant.
• Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Move and segregate materials to maximize recovery and recycling.
• Complete daily safety and defect checks before operating equipment.
• Identify and report unsuitable or non-conforming materials.
• Keep operational areas, walkways and machinery clean and free from debris.
• Support routine plant maintenance once fully trained.
• Follow all health, safety, environmental and site procedures.
• Report equipment defects, incidents and near misses immediately.
• Wear the required personal protective equipment at all times.
