Job summary

Westmill is seeking a Loader / FLT Warehouse Operative in Selby to keep finished goods, packaging and materials moving safely and efficiently around site, ensuring production has what it needs and finished products are ready to go where they need to be.

This 40-hour-per-week role operates Monday to Friday with rotating shifts; occasional night shifts may occur. A practical, safety-focused mindset is essential, and an FLT licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload finished goods, packaging, pallets and tote bags safely.
• Move finished goods pallets between areas.
• Ensure pallets have correct finished goods labels.
• Supply production lines with packaging and consumables.
• Remove used pallets and waste packaging from production areas.
• Complete pre-start checks and required documentation.
• Support Line Technicians and palletiser activities when needed.
• Keep the work area clean, tidy and safe during shifts.
• Report health and safety issues and near misses promptly.

LOADER / FLT WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE

Selby | 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Rotating shifts | £32,549.64 per annum

We’re looking for a Loader / FLT Warehouse Operative to join our team in Selby.

This is an important, practical role at the heart of our operation. You’ll help keep finished goods, packaging and materials moving safely and efficiently around site, making sure production has what it needs and finished products are ready to go where they need to go.

YOUR SHIFTS

You’ll work 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, on rotating shifts:

• 6:00am to 2:00pm
• 2:00pm to 10:00pm
• Occasional 10:00pm to 6:00am night shifts when required, although these are very rare

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Loading and unloading finished goods, packaging, pallets and tote bags safely
• Moving finished goods pallets from the packing hall
• Making sure pallets have the correct finished goods labels
• Supplying production lines with the packaging and consumables they need
• Removing used pallets, waste packaging and other materials from production areas
• Carrying out pre-start checks and completing the required documentation
• Supporting Line Technicians and palletiser activity when required
• Keeping your working area clean, tidy and safe throughout the shift
• Reporting health and safety issues and near misses quickly and helping maintain high site standards

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Has a good basic understanding of workplace safety
• Communicates clearly and works well with othersIs comfortable with basic numbers and paperwork
• Takes pride in doing things safely and accurately
• Is flexible and happy working in a busy operational environment

A Food Hygiene certificate would be useful, but it isn’t essential.
