Overview

RAFAKidz provides high quality, affordable early years childcare and wraparound services to the children of serving RAF personnel and the wider defence community (other military personnel, civil servants, contractors and their families). Since its inception in 2019, RAFAKidz has grown rapidly and this is your chance to join as we continue to expand. Our newest setting in the heart of London is one of 21 settings within the RAFAKidz family. RAFAKidz is a not-for-profit organisation, reinvesting surplus income to support the RAF community.

About the role

As one of our busiest nurseries in a prestigious setting in Westminster, you can expect to be fully ‘hands on’ to create a stimulating and exciting nursery setting, using many of the tools and resources RAFAKidz have already developed, to strengthen and grow the quality of our care and our team. You will be fully supported by our wider management team including an Operations Manager, Operations Director and our amazing HR team.

The role will be to manage the day-to-day operations of the site, working closely with your team. Key objectives include;

  • To provide professional leadership and management of the nursery.
  • To effectively manage the day-to-day running of the nursery.
  • To ensure the delivery of the highest standards of care and education.
  • To ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • To ensure the financial sustainability of the nursery.
  • To be the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the nursery.
About you

You will bring with you a strong knowledge of Early Years, together with the appropriate qualifications, along with a nurturing personality and a desire to achieve the very best outcomes for our children. Previous Nursery Manager experience is essential for this role along with:

  • Experience leading and motivating a team with excellent proactive team engagement and involvement
  • Previous experience managing income and expenditure budget
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance.
  • Ability to co-ordinate in a specific specialist area e.g. SENCO.
