Job summary

GP Solution, a respected maritime organisation, seeks an experienced Technical Superintendent to join its Ship Management team. You will oversee the technical management, maintenance and operational performance of a fleet of LNG vessels, acting as the main technical point of contact for ships and coordinating with Masters, shore teams, owners and charterers.

The ideal candidate has a strong seagoing engineering background with shore‑based technical management experience.

Qualifications

• Strong seagoing engineering background with shore-based technical management experience.
• Experience as a 1st Engineer or senior engineering officer on LNG vessels preferred.
• Marine engineering qualification ideally Class 1 or degree level.
• Knowledge of vessel machinery, maintenance and technical systems.
• Experience with cargo containment and cargo handling systems advantageous.
• Knowledge of regasification systems and STS operations.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical management, maintenance and operational performance of LNG vessel fleet.
• Act as the main technical point of contact for the vessels and coordinate with Masters, shore teams, owners and charterers.
• Oversee planned and unplanned maintenance, repairs, major projects and dry-docking; monitor maintenance systems.
• Manage budgets for operating, maintenance and dry-docking; ensure statutory, class and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct vessel visits and report on condition and performance; coordinate surveys, inspections, audits and terminal requirements.
• Procure stores, spares and technical services; review expenditure; support vessel personnel processes.
• Monitor performance and support continuous improvement; act as Fleet Manager when required.
