Job summary

Achieve Group is seeking an experienced LNG Trader to join its London team. The role carries full ownership of international LNG trading profitability, develops trading strategies, and leads a trading team in a global market.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in LNG or gas trading with established industry relationships and strong commercial judgement, capable of navigating the global LNG value chain and regulatory environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering, science, economics, or business management.
• 10+ years LNG or gas trading experience with proven track record.
• Established relationships with LNG and gas market participants.
• Strong commercial judgement and experience managing international activities.
• Understanding of global LNG/gas value chain and market dynamics.
• Familiarity with trade regulations, contracts, and terms.
• Strong negotiation and communication with analytical approach.

Job description

Our client is a national energy company seeking an experienced LNG Trader to join its London team. The role combines responsibility for international trading performance, commercial strategy and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the international LNG trading business’s profitability and P&L.
• Develop and implement trading strategies across spot, short-term and long-term markets.
• Lead commercial negotiations and structure procurement and sales plans for individual transactions.
• Evaluate potential LNG suppliers and conduct due diligence to support trading decisions.
• Oversee trading contract execution, monitoring delivery against agreed commercial terms.
• Prepare management reports covering trading performance, market developments and commercial intelligence.
• Manage trading processes in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Lead and develop the team, promoting collaboration and setting clear performance expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Economics, Business Management or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of LNG or gas trading experience, supported by a proven commercial track record.
• Established relationships with key participants across the LNG and gas markets.
• Strong commercial judgement and experience managing international business activities.
• Sound understanding of the global LNG and gas value chain, market dynamics and trading practices.
• Familiarity with relevant trade regulations, commercial contracts and transaction terms.
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder coordination and communication skills, with an analytical approach and attention to detail.
