Job description

Croydon Affordable Housing is seeking a ‘Can Do’ Property and Tenancy Manager to join our small team. You will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining relationships with tenants, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Croydon Affordable Housing is a small housing charity established in 2017 by Croydon Council. The charity manages fewer than 1,000 properties and reports to an independent charity board.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual to take a lead role in ensuring that Croydon Affordable Housing fulfills its duties as a landlord.

You will have experience in team management, overseeing the daily operations of a team of three officers. Extensive knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management, and property compliance is required, along with a willingness to learn through training opportunities. The ability to work across departments—such as Health and Safety, Compliance, Allocations, Voids, and Income Suppliers—is vital to ensure our properties meet British standards and maintain high levels of tenancy sustainment.

This role emphasizes operational delivery, relationship-building, and stakeholder confidence. Strong verbal and written communication skills, creativity in collaboration, negotiation abilities, and confidence in presenting to senior teams are essential.

If you possess the relevant skills and experience to help us achieve our positive vision for Croydon Affordable Housing, we would love to hear from you.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact the Property & Contract Manager, Kinjal Patel, at Kinjal.Patel@croydon.gov.uk.

Croydon Council is an inclusive employer and welcomes applications from all community sections. We consider applications from candidates seeking flexible working arrangements. As a disability confident scheme user, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role.
