Job summary

NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking a Registered Nurse (Adult/Mental Health) to deliver high-quality, person-centred care within police custody and SARCS settings in Scotland.

You will conduct forensic medical examinations, serve as a forensically trained chaperone, and work with Forensic Medical Examiners, Police Custody Officers, and multidisciplinary teams. The role requires autonomous practice and adherence to strict evidence collection standards.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
• Willingness to undertake additional training including Forensic Examination skills.
• Ability to work autonomously in fast-paced environments.

Essential Requirements

• Registered Nurse (Adult/Mental Health) with current NMC registration.
• Willingness to undertake additional training, including Non-Medical Prescribing and Forensic Examination skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and make clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced clinical examination skills /Evidence of further education in areas such as Minor Injury/Illness. Or willingness to undertake

Desirable

• Experience in custody healthcare or forensic nursing.
• Experience in Emergency medicine, acute care or primary care
