Job description

Red Rover Interactive is an exciting new game development studio founded by industry veterans from renowned companies such as Funcom, Lockwood Publishing, Bohemia Interactive, Ubisoft Reflections, and more. We're on a mission to reimagine the multiplayer gaming landscape, with an emphasis on crafting groundbreaking survival experiences that champion player agency and drama.

The Role:

As a LiveOps Designer, you will play a key role in crafting and executing live content strategies that drive player engagement, retention, and monetization. You’ll work cross-functionally with producers, designers, analysts, and developers to implement compelling events, promotions, and features that enrich the game’s ongoing lifecycle. Your expertise in Live Operations and Economy Design will help ensure a balanced, sustainable, and exciting in-game economy.

  • Design, schedule, and manage in-game events, seasonal content, challenges, and limited-time modes that support retention and monetization goals.
  • Collaborate with design team to balance in-game economy, currencies, progression systems, and reward structures.
  • Define and refine LiveOps strategy aligned with player behaviour insights and business KPIs.
  • Partner with analytics to monitor feature performance and player engagement metrics; iterate based on results.
  • Prototype and document LiveOps tools and workflows, working closely with engineering and tools teams.
  • Work alongside community and support teams to respond to player feedback and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Develop A/B tests and live experiments to improve systems, offers, and content cadence.
  • Stay current with industry trends in games-as-a-service (GaaS), monetization, and LiveOps best practices.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Proven track record of operating live game events, content calendars, and progression systems at scale.
  • Deep understanding of player engagement loops, monetization systems, and live game KPIs.
  • Strong data literacy: able to interpret dashboards, player data, and economic flows to make design decisions.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience with Unreal and familiarity with in-engine tools for LiveOps.

In addition, we expect you to have:

  • 3 - 6 years of experience in LiveOps or economy design roles in the games industry, ideally within a GaaS or free-to-play environment.
  • Scripting or technical design background.
  • Experience working on early-stage titles or launching live services from scratch.
  • A passion for games, particularly competitive multiplayer and survival PvP experiences.

We strongly believe that our team and culture are integral to building creative and innovative games, to this ends we prioritize an office-first approach with hybrid home working options.
