Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Live-out Houseman/Caretaker to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of a private estate, including all associated buildings, courtyards, and outdoor areas. The role involves driving duties and dog care. A strong understanding of household systems, good organisational skills, and a flexible approach are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily cleaning and maintenance of entrances, terraces, estate offices, and garages.
• Managing logs and fireplaces, assisting with basic repairs, monitoring lighting and guttering.
• Ensuring outdoor areas such as the barn, playground, and garden furniture are clean and in good condition.
• Assisting with events, collaborating with the gardening team, and supporting contractors.
• Caring for the family’s dogs (feeding, walking, vet visits) and potentially obtaining a firearms licence for shoot days.
• Driving duties include running errands, airport transfers, transporting family and staff (including to/from London), and overseeing estate vehicle maintenance and presentation.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Good knowledge of general maintenance
• Flexible and discreet
• Animal-friendly; willing to assist with dog care
• Firearms licence (or willingness to obtain) is an advantage

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm (1-hour lunch break). Occasional weekend work may be required, with time off in lieu.

Salary:

Negotiable from £45k+ gross per annum depending on experience.
