Job summary

Svitzer is recruiting a Deckhand / Launch Coxswain for its Fawley operation. You will support the Master and officers, own deck operations, perform maintenance, and contribute to engine-room tasks as needed in a safety-critical maritime role.

The position demands flexibility, reliability and a strong work ethic, with on-call rotation and ongoing training as part of career development.

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic, good communication and a professional attitude are expected.
• Able Seaman Certification or Efficient Deckhand Certification with Navigational Watch Rating.
• ENG1 medical and STCW Basic Safety Training are required or have minimum validity.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Master and officers to ensure safe, efficient operations
• Taking ownership of deck operations, safety routines and vessel standards
• Carrying out planned maintenance and keeping the vessel clean, safe and ready
• Getting involved in both deck and engine-room tasks when required
• Willing to undergo ongoing training and professional development
