Our client, a semi-independent provider of accommodation and bespoke support services for 16- to 18-year-olds, is seeking a Live In Youth Support Worker to join their friendly team. They have homes in Warwickshire, Leicestershire, and Birmingham and currently offer a working pattern of 3 days on and 4 days off alternating with 4 days on and 3 days off, in a live-in arrangement for that period.

The Youth Support Worker is expected to help the young people live independently and access local services available to them as well as provide practical support such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, and maintaining good personal hygiene.
A detailed job description will be given to the shortlisted candidates and this post is on a full-time basis. The future team member should be able to take deliberate initiatives to develop appropriate relationships with the young people, some of whom may present with challenging behaviours, to understand their needs and feelings and respond to them accordingly. They should also be able to build positive relationships with external agencies and stakeholders including social services, education providers, YOTs, etc. They will also be required to undergo an enhanced DBS screening if they do not currently hold one on the update service.
