Live-In Personal Care Assistant to a Young Adult

AskJules are looking for caring and trustworthy Personal Care Assistants for our client based in Alton in Hampshire. Our client is a young adult seeking a team of fun, caring PA’s to help them transition into the next part of their journey of seeking independence as they move away from home for the first time.

This is a great opportunity to help make a positive impact on a young adult’s life.

Start: ASAP

Rota: Live-In / Friday 13.00PM to Monday 10am / every other weekend

Location: Alton, Hampshire (GU34 4GL)

Pay: £180 per day

Free accommodation whilst on shift Holidays: 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata

A Full UK Driving licence is essential for this position to drive our client's Automatic vehicle

About the Job:

Care experience is welcomed but not essential, as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.

Our client a non-verbal communicator and has a condition called Cerebral Palsy, which does mean they are a full-time wheelchair user. Your responsibilities will encompass every aspect of daily life to ensure their comfort and quality of life.

“I am a very unique, determined, kind, caring and independent young woman who is moving out of home for the first time. I have cerebral palsy, my muscle tone varies depending on my health and emotional state. I am a full time wheelchair user, which I drive with head switches.

I have a background in art, design and photography, which alongside creative visual and technical skills has given me a creative set of problem solving abilities.

My aims for my first year away from home are to settle into a good routine of socialising and finding fulfilling ways to spend my day, such as volunteering and joining clubs.

I have very specific needs and so it is important for my PA to be clean, and to be able to follow my directions well, but we will work together and I will help and guide you with how I want things done.

I love to socialise with all sorts of different people, as long as I like them!

I like to spend time with animals, and am very adventurous, having completed things such as sponsored abseils, skydiving, skiing, sailing, high roller-coasters and many other daring activities.”
