Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to support a young wheelchair user and first-year university student studying Accounting & Finance at the University of Sussex. No prior care experience is necessary as comprehensive training will be provided.

Details

• Start Date: Training begins in July for September 2025 enrollment
• Location: Sussex (Term Time) / Surbiton (Holidays)
• Shift Pattern: 7 days on / 7 days off (live-in)

About Our Client

The client is a lively first-year student with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, using a powered wheelchair and requiring assistance with daily activities and therapies. She is active in sports, socializes, and enjoys music, travel, and reading.

Role Responsibilities

Assist with personal care, therapy routines, and support her social and academic activities. The role involves manual handling, supporting independence, and respecting privacy and confidentiality.

Candidate Requirements

• Valid UK Driving Licence (essential)
• Fluent in English (verbal and written)
• Own transport or access to public transport in Sussex and Surbiton
• Physically fit for manual handling
• Domestic skills: cooking, light cleaning, laundry
• Non-smoker
