We are seeking the final member to join our client's care team. Our client, with a degree in American Studies, is now pursuing a Masters in Film Studies. As a Personal Assistant (PA), you will provide personal care and support for independent living. This role offers a chance to make a real difference in his life and achievements.
Start: ASAP
Rota: Live-in 7 days on / 7 days off
Location: Manchester (term-time); Hull (off-term)
Pay rate: £190 per day = £1,330 per week worked
Requirements: A full UK Manual Driving licence is essential, as you will need to drive the client's adapted vehicle.
Includes daily physio exercises and full personal care, as described by him.
Hi Potential Carer! I have completed my degree in American Studies and am now undertaking a Masters in Film Studies. I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic condition causing muscle weakness. It also causes tightness in certain muscles, requiring daily physio exercises.
As my carer, your main challenge is to keep me alive; everything else is a bonus. Despite what they may tell you, being my carer isn't that difficult—just needs help with every aspect of my life. It might sound difficult, but it’s rewarding!
During weekends, I enjoy gigs, concerts, museums, art galleries, and cinema. I often go with friends or just with you. I also love shopping for LPs and books.
You should be someone who doesn't take things too seriously, has a good sense of humour, and respects my privacy. You won’t need to be around constantly, so you'll have plenty of downtime for yourself.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference. You will assist with health and social care, and it’s a flatmate-style role, involving social activities typical of a university student, like socialising and exploring Manchester.
