Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a dedicated live-in Housekeeper/Cook for a private family in a beautifully restored residence. This role requires immaculate housekeeping, laundry, and cooking skills, along with a proactive and reliable attitude. You will be responsible for maintaining the home to the highest standards, managing wardrobes, and ensuring security measures are upheld. Accommodation is provided, and you will work five days a week with flexibility in hours, including evenings and weekends. Job description

This is a new role for an immaculately presented, proactive and reliable live-in hands-on Housekeeper/Cook to work for a private family at a historical and beautifully restored private residence in NW1.

Duties to include but not limited to:

  1. Open and close the residence
  2. Housekeeping to the highest standard
  3. Laundry and ironing to the highest standard
  4. Wardrobe management
  5. Care of antiques
  6. Care and upkeep of fabrics and items within the home
  7. Easy garden maintenance
  8. Frequent healthy and simple cooking
  9. Preparing shopping list and doing the grocery/household shop
  10. Setting and serving at the table (if required)
  11. Liaising with contractors
  12. Notifying the Principal if any items are damaged
  13. Maintain high level security measures
  14. Ability to drive Employer’s car as and when necessary
  15. Maintain organised expense records and household files
  16. Answer the house phone
  17. Occasional help with visiting Principal's admin

The residence has numerous spacious bedrooms with a double height studio in the Mews behind.

Days and Hours – 5 days a week with two days off. 8am – 6pm a ‘typical’ day but imperative to have a flexible approach to working hours, including from time-to-time evenings and weekends particularly when Principals are in residence.

Needs to sleep at the house 7 nights a week and be very security conscious. There is a very high spec alarm system.

Accommodation – single occupancy separate well lit studio - bed/bath/small kitchen.

All food & uniform to be provided.

Salary £45,000 - £50,000 with discretionary bonus.

Holiday 20 days plus Bank Holidays.

Candidates must have a DBS, full driving licence, and legal rights to work in the UK.
