Salary: £35,000 pa (or depending on candidate experience)

Location: Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire

Accommodation: Private flat provided on the estate, all bills included

Working days: Tuesday to Saturday (Sundays and Mondays off)

The Burford Recruitment Company is pleased to be working on behalf of a private family based near Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, who are seeking an experienced and proactive Live-In Housekeeper/Cook to support the smooth running of their beautiful Manor House.

This is a live-in role for a discreet and reliable professional to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the home and prepare healthy, family-style meals for a family of six (including children at university and boarding school).

Responsibilities
  • Housekeeping & Household Management
  • Full housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and ironing (a daily cleaner provides assistance)
  • Care and maintenance of antiques, fine furnishings, and delicate surfaces
  • Managing household supplies and running errands as needed
  • Cooking & Hospitality
  • Preparing fresh, healthy meals daily for the family
  • Assisting with table setting and general hospitality
  • Pet Care & General Support
  • Occasional help with pets (dogs and cat) and awareness of farm animals and horses
  • Driving for errands or family needs (a valid driver's license is essential)
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar live-in housekeeping/cook role
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive and discreet approach
  • Comfortable around animals and accustomed to country living
  • Confident driver with a clean license
  • Flexible, reliable, and able to work independently
