Job summary

Medicare People Limited in Cranleigh is seeking a dedicated Live-in Carer to support clients in their own homes, promoting independence, dignity and choice. You will provide person-centred care, companionship, personal care, meal support, medication administration and light household tasks, working with families and healthcare professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality care.

We offer flexible placements from 4 days to 8 weeks, free accommodation during placement, a Blue Light Card,

Qualifications

• Previous professional care experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a client's home.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Medication administration experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care within clients' homes.
• Offer companionship and emotional support.
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Support mobility and safe moving and handling.
• Prepare meals and encourage nutrition and hydration.
• Administer medication as per care plans.
• Assist with light household duties and laundry.
• Run errands such as shopping and prescriptions.
• Monitor wellbeing and report concerns to the care team.
• Collaborate with families and healthcare professionals.
• Keep accurate and detailed care records.

What you'll do

• Provide person-centred care within clients' homes
• Build meaningful relationships through companionship and emotional support
• Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing and grooming
• Support mobility and safe moving and handling
• Prepare meals and encourage nutrition and hydration
• Administer medication in line with care plans
• Support light household duties, including cleaning and laundry
• Run errands such as shopping and collecting prescriptions
• Monitor wellbeing and report concerns appropriately
• Work closely with families and healthcare professionals
• Keep accurate and detailed care records
• Deliver meaningful one-to-one support that promotes independence

What you'll bring

• Previous professional care experience is preferred
• A caring, patient and compassionate nature
• Confidence working independently within a client's home
• Strong communication and listening skills
• The ability to adapt to different clients and care needs
• Reliability and a professional attitude
• A commitment to delivering person-centred care
• Experience supporting people with daily living activities
• Right to work in the UK
• Medication administration experience is desirable
• Live-in care experience is welcomed but not essential
