Job summary
Medicare People is seeking compassionate Live-in Care Healthcare Assistants (HCA) in Gatwick to help clients live independently at home. You will provide person-centred support, companionship, and practical help with daily living tasks, in a flexible placement program.
We offer free training, accommodation during placements, food allowance, bank holiday pay, a pension scheme and 24/7 support from a dedicated team. Prior care experience is preferred but not essential.
Qualifications
- Previous professional care experience preferred.
- Caring, patient and compassionate nature.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work independently within a client's home.
- Adaptability to different clients and care needs.
- Reliable, professional attitude and person-centred care.
- Experience with daily living activities and medication administration.
Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care within clients' homes.
- Build relationships through companionship and emotional support.
- Assist with personal care (washing, dressing, grooming).
- Support mobility and safe moving and handling.
- Prepare meals and promote nutrition and hydration.
- Administer medication per care plans.
- Support light housekeeping tasks (cleaning, laundry).
- Run errands (shopping, prescriptions).
- Monitor wellbeing and report concerns.
- Collaborate with families and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate care records and promote independence.
