Job summary

IPS -Impact Productions ( Milton Keynes) Ltd in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced Live Events Service Technician to diagnose, repair and maintain electronic equipment in our workshop.

You will work on PCB assemblies, source parts, and support technical teams while keeping safety and confidentiality at the forefront. The role requires reading schematics, through-hole and SMD repair, and strong IT skills.

Qualifications

• Methodical and reliable technician with strong PCB repair and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Able to read schematics and deliver precise work under pressure.
• Experience of through-hole and surface-mount PCB repair and relevant tools.
• Excellent attention to detail, teamwork and communication skills.
• Competent IT skills and a commitment to health, safety and confidentiality.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Desirable: electronics qualification, entertainment-lighting experience or knowledge of control protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assess faults and complete through-hole and surface-mount PCB repairs using appropriate test equipment.
• Diagnose electrical issues accurately and work safely with mains electricity.
• Deliver cost-effective repairs to agreed quality standards and timescales.
• Record faults, repair requirements, parts and equipment status accurately.
• Source parts, liaise with suppliers and maintain spare-parts stock.
• Keep workshop and warehouse areas safe, clean and organised.
• Support technical teams, special projects and cable manufacturing as required.
