We may have the answer!

The Music Consortium (TMC) is now recruiting freelance live-events crew from Merseyside and the surrounding areas to join our team!

TMC is a Yorkshire-based crewing company that operates across the UK and Ireland. We provide crew to all manner of events, such as festivals, concerts, sports, TV, conferences and more.

Here at TMC we pride ourselves on providing exceptional crew to our clients, and we put all our crew through an induction and training program that is designed specifically for live events crew, no matter what their experience level. As such, crew of all abilities are encouraged to apply for this role!

Crewing is hard, but rewarding work. Whilst working with TMC you will get fantastic opportunities for progression within the live events industry, whether that be through promotion within the TMC ranks, or by networking with the people we work alongside. Coupled with competitive rates of pay and the ability to choose your own availability as a self-employed freelancer, this is a great opportunity for crew of all experience levels.

About the role:

Live events crew will be exposed to a variety of different duties. Below is a summary of the kinds of tasks you can expect to be involved in:

  1. Setting up and breaking down events.
  2. Loading and unloading trucks.
  3. Rigging/de-rigging audio, lighting, and video equipment.
  4. Building stages, seating, barrier and fencing.
  5. Putting together set pieces.
  6. Assisting technicians with backline.

As you gain experience with TMC, you may also be presented opportunities to be involved in working during the show, whether that be as a Stagehand, Spotlight Operator and more. There are also opportunities for high-performing crew to be put through training for other roles, such as Plant Operator licences, Crew Chief training, and shadowing Stage Managers.

About you:

At The Music Consortium, our crew come from all manner of different places and backgrounds, and we value everyone for their own personality. These individual personalities mould together to create one fantastic team, and we are looking for new crew that want to become a part of it. In our crew, we encourage professionalism and want to see the following qualities:

  1. A great team player.
  2. Flexibility, with a willingness to work unsociable hours (weekends, overnights, etc.).
  3. Happy to travel for work/camp on site at festivals.

  1. Previous experience in crewing.
  2. Holders of Plant Operator licences.
  3. Drivers with access to their own vehicle.
  4. Those with experience in other areas of live events.

  3. Kneel, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfil tasks.
