Job summary

A law firm in the South West London and Surrey market is seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor to join its disputes team on a permanent basis. This opportunity offers genuine autonomy, direct client exposure, and the chance to develop an own practice in a supportive, entrepreneurial environment.

The role provides a base salary plus commission, with hybrid working and no formal billable hour targets. You will manage commercial and property litigation matters and grow a client base in the SW

Qualifications

• 5+ years' PQE in private practice litigation.

• Excellent client-facing and relationship management skills.
• Ability to negotiate fee proposals and develop lasting client relationships.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a commercially minded litigator with 5+ years' PQE who is looking for genuine autonomy, direct client exposure, and the chance to develop their own practice within a supportive and entrepreneurial environment. The role offers a base salary plus commission and flexible working arrangements.

Key Highlights

• Manage your own caseload of commercial and property litigation matters from instruction through to conclusion, taking full responsibility for client relationships and case strategy.
• Circa £40,000, plus commission on billings, hybrid working, and no formal billable hour targets.
• Significant autonomy from day one, with genuine opportunities to build long-term client relationships and play a key role in the growth of the disputes practice.
• Work closely with clients, providing strategic advice and maintaining ownership of matters throughout their lifecycle.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor with ideally 5+ years' post-qualification experience in private practice litigation.
• Strong expertise in property litigation and commercial disputes, with the ability to run a varied caseload independently.
• Commercially minded approach combined with excellent client-facing and relationship management skills.
• Proven ability to negotiate fee proposals, manage matters through to billing, and develop lasting client relationships.
• An interest in building a profile and client base within the South West London and Surrey market.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a current practising certificate.
• Demonstrable experience in property litigation and commercial dispute resolution.
• Strong track record of successful case management and client relationship development within a law firm environment.
