Litigation Solicitor - Southern Housing

Southern Housing is seeking an experienced Litigation Solicitor or Barrister to join our dynamic in-house legal team on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a broad range of housing management and landlord & tenant litigation matters within one of the UK's leading housing associations.
Provide legal advice and representation on routine and complex housing management issues
Handle a caseload of litigation matters including:
Anti-social behaviour injunctions & possession claims
Disrepair claims & Environmental Protection Act prosecutions
Court of Protection applications
Draft legal documents including pleadings, witness statements, and trial bundles
Advise on First Tier Tribunal cases, trespass and easement claims, and breach of contract or lease disputes
Liaise with internal clients, external solicitors, and Counsel as needed
Assist in process development and witness support, including occasional out-of-hours work
Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal procedures
Qualified Solicitor (with a current Law Society practising certificate) or Barrister (with Bar Council certification and litigation rights)
Strong understanding of housing law and landlord & tenant litigation
Excellent drafting, communication, and IT skills (Microsoft Office suite)
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism
Willingness to support junior colleagues and contribute to a collaborative legal team
Experience working for housing associations or public sector bodies
Advocacy experience in County Court or First Tier Tribunal
Familiarity with in-house legal service development
