Job summary

Nixon McQuade, in partnership with a leading National law firm, seeks a Litigation Solicitor (Newly Qualified to 2 years PQE) to join the Belfast team. You will handle defence insurance matters, work under supervision, and develop through structured training and mentoring within a well-established firm.

The role offers exposure to high quality, complex litigation, hybrid working, and clear progression paths.

Qualifications

• Newly Qualified to 5 years PQE solicitor

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of defence insurance litigation files from inception to resolution

• Attend court hearings, mediations and settlement meetings as required
• Work with senior solicitors and partners on high value claims
• Ensure files progress efficiently in line with procedures and client service standards

Job description

Nixon McQuade are currently working in partnership with a highly regarded National law firm based in Belfast City Centre, who are seeking to recruit a Litigation Solicitor at Newly Qualified to 2 years PQE.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a junior solicitor to join a well established national law firm, acting on behalf of major insurers and corporate clients. The successful candidate will benefit from exposure to high quality, complex litigation matters, as well as structured training, mentoring, and long-term career progression.

The Role

The successful candidate will join a busy and growing defence insurance team, working across a broad range of litigation matters. Responsibilities will include:

• Managing a caseload of defence insurance litigation files from inception to resolution
• Drafting pleadings, correspondence, and legal documentation
• Instructing and liaising with counsel, experts, and third parties
• Attending court hearings, mediations, and settlement meetings as required
• Working closely with senior solicitors and partners on more complex and high value claims
• Ensuring files are progressed efficiently, in line with internal procedures and client service standards

The Person

Candidates should be motivated, detail oriented, and keen to develop their career within insurance litigation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Newly Qualified to 5 years PQE solicitor
