Job summary

A legal firm in Trowbridge seeks an Office Assistant for the Litigation Department. Responsibilities include audio typing, client interaction, and general office duties. Ideal candidates will have good typing skills, knowledge of grammar, and a professional telephone manner. Previous experience in litigation is a plus. This full-time position offers 28 holiday days, along with standard public holidays.

  • Audio typing, preparing and amending draft documents.
  • Making and receiving telephone calls and dealing with emails.
  • Dealing with clients in person and on the telephone.
  • Making appointments and assisting with queries.
  • Photocopying, filing, and general office duties.
  • Assisting other members of the Litigation team.
  • Liaising with Accounts Department for necessary materials.
  • Reception cover during absence.

Job description

Hours:Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm
Holiday:28 days in addition to public holidays

Job purpose:

To provide support to the Litigation Department.

Key responsibilities:

1. Audio typing, preparing and amending draft documents
2. Making and receiving telephone calls and dealing with emails
3. Dealing with clients both in person and on the telephone and assisting clients in the absence of a fee earner.
4. Making appointments and assisting with queries.
5. Photocopying, filing and general office duties including opening files and preparing completed files for storage.
6. Assisting other members of the Litigation team and liaising with other members of staff as appropriate.
7. Liaising with Accounts Department to obtain cheques, print-outs etc., as necessary.
8. Liaising with the Office Manager with regard to stocks of stationery etc.
9. Reception cover during absence on holiday or illness.

Skills/requirements:

• Accurate and fast typing.
