Job Description:

We are currently partnering with a Local Authority in Somerset, recruiting for a Litigation Lawyer to join their team on a 3-month locum contract.

This is a 25-hour per week contract with an hourly rate of approximately £60.00/hour (Umbrella).

Responsibilities include:

• Managing caseloads and advising on litigation matters such as homelessness, housing disrepair, debt recovery, possession proceedings, injunctions, anti-social behaviour, traveller encampments, regulatory prosecutions, and judicial review proceedings.
• Conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, legal documents, and providing case analysis.
• Advising on education matters, particularly challenges related to SEND and EHC Assessments.
• Negotiating settlements and alternative dispute resolutions.
• Providing guidance on licensing schemes and enforcement work.
• Supervising junior team members.

Requirements:

• Experience in Local Government law.

Working hours:

• 25 hours per week.
