Job Description:

Commercial Litigation Lawyer 7+

Outstanding opportunity for a mid-senior commercial litigation lawyer, or a mid-senior insurance litigation lawyer, or an insolvency lawyer to join an independent litigation and M&A insurance and litigation finance brokerage in London.

This is mostly an office-based role with Fridays spent working from home. Special arrangements will be made for interested candidates outside London's commuter belt with a strong interest and skill set for the role. Such candidates are encouraged to apply, as the company is keen to see a range of candidates.

Operating at the intersection of law, finance, and insurance, you will use your legal, commercial, and analytical skills to assess complex litigation opportunities and prepare proposals for litigation insurance and funding providers.

You will work closely with the Directors in advising law firms, funders, corporate, and individual clients on negotiation, structuring of commercial terms, due diligence, and executing agreements.

The role includes:

• Assessing merits of various case types (including insolvency, consumer GLOs, competition claims, international arbitration, and commercial litigation), drafting proposals, and liaising with clients and funders/insurers.
• Maintaining relationships with global law firms and assisting in new business development.
• Managing ongoing cases with law firm clients.
• Demonstrating experience as a litigator with commercial acumen and financial understanding.
• Attention to detail, data processing, and efficient review skills.
• Prioritization skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Comfort with various case types and forums.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, proactive.
• Commitment to excellent client service.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience in litigation finance/insurance, private practice, or funding roles.
• Experience in a commercial environment and with alternative fee arrangements.
• Networking skills, including attending conferences, writing articles, speaking at panels, and client pitches.
• Experience in drafting and executing transactional documents.
