Position: In-house dispute resolution and claims handling for UK & Ireland businesses. This role will be based in the United Kingdom, preferably in the Bristol Office. Reports to the Senior Litigation Business Partner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver accurate, commercial, timely, and cost-effective legal advice to resolve complaints and disputes, avoiding margin erosion and minimizing reputational risk.
  • Manage a portfolio of claims and disputes, including professional negligence, professional indemnity claims, fee claims, debt recovery, project disputes, procurement issues under public sector contracts, insurance coverage disputes, and regulatory matters.
  • Handle claims involving project review, assembling and leading internal claims teams, securing documents, identifying witnesses, setting dispute resolution strategies, notifying insurers, instructing external solicitors and experts, controlling costs, maintaining records, and reporting to management.
  • Advise project and bid teams on contractual and legal issues.
  • Provide strategic and commercial advice on disputes to UK & Ireland businesses and management, as well as to global teams.
  • Assist the UK & Ireland General Counsel in designing and delivering claims and disputes strategies, including training, internal guidance, statistical analysis, and risk management advice.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • First degree or equivalent, preferably in law.
  • Solicitor with current practicing certificate in England and Wales.
  • At least 2 years PQE in dispute resolution, ideally in both private practice and in-house.
  • Knowledge of professional negligence, construction, and engineering-related litigation, adjudication, mediation, health and safety law, and enforcement.
  • Additional knowledge in environmental law, company law, EU law, and advocacy is advantageous.
