Job description

The role involves assisting with Litigated Road Traffic Accident claims and managing a portfolio of litigated small claims track files under supervision.

Key responsibilities include handling quantum and liability small claims, conducting negotiations, drafting legal documents, and liaising with clients and third parties.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals beginning their litigation career, with training and ongoing support provided.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Manage a caseload of Small Claims Track cases, ensuring deadlines are met.
  2. Achieve performance targets and maintain quality standards.
  3. Analyze evidence to develop case strategies.
  4. Negotiate with clients, defendants, and insurers to settle cases efficiently.
  5. Prepare witness statements and court documents.
  6. Instruct and liaise with Counsel.
  7. Guide defendants through litigation and set expectations.
  8. Maintain case management and billing systems accurately.
  9. Delegate tasks appropriately within the team.
  10. Handle correspondence and calls within service levels.
  11. Update reports with new evidence.
  12. Adhere to client guidelines and ensure accurate communication.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  1. Legal experience through education or practice.
  2. File handling experience in law practice or insurance.
  3. Understanding of highway code and road traffic laws.
  4. Ability to prioritize and plan workloads.
  5. Efficiency in process-driven environments.
  6. Proactive attitude and willingness to develop skills.
  7. Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  8. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
