Job summary

PK Education Limited is recruiting Literacy and Numeracy Intervention Teaching Assistants to support a primary school in Northumberland.

You will deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions, assist with reading, phonics, comprehension, writing and maths, and work with teachers to tailor activities to learners’ needs. You will monitor progress, share feedback with staff, and foster engagement, independence and confidence. DBS checks are required or applicants must be willing to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting primary-aged pupils, ideally with literacy or numeracy interventions.
• Good understanding of primary English and maths, including phonics.
• Ability to build positive relationships and adapt activities to different abilities.
• Strong communication skills and a patient, encouraging approach.
• DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply for a new one.
