Job summary

Twynham Learning seeks a Subject Leader: Literacy to spearhead literacy strategy across Twynham TGS. You will lead a specialist literacy team and oversee interventions to raise reading, writing, spelling and oracy across two schools.

The role combines strategic leadership with direct work with students, ensuring rapid progress for those with literacy barriers. CPD and safeguarding are core priorities within our federation model.

Qualifications

• Experience leading literacy strategy across multiple schools.
• Ability to lead literacy interventions and assess progress.
• Experience supporting students with dyslexia and SEND.
• Evidence-informed practice and CPD delivery.
• Middle-leader potential and collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the literacy strategy across Twynham TGS.
• Lead and manage the specialist literacy team and interventions.
• Deliver targeted support for students with literacy barriers.
• Collaborate with English, SEND and pastoral leaders.
• Monitor and evaluate literacy provision across both schools.
• Promote safeguarding and welfare of children.
