Job description

We’re recruiting for a Nearly/Newly Qualified Actuary to join our Group Treasury Function as a Liquidity Manager. We’re offering a competitive base salary as well as a host of other great benefits.

As a Liquidity Manager, you will work on liquidity optimisation projects to drive change and growth in our existing liquidity infrastructure to maximise the liquidity available for investment across the Group. You will also play a pivotal role in building, implementing, and scaling a new liquidity reporting function to forecast liquidity generation moving forward.

What you'll be doing:
  1. Developing, implementing, and managing a robust, regular consolidated liquidity reporting capability for forecasting liquidity generation by Business Unit.
  2. Creating liquidity forecasts and tracking actual liquidity against these forecasts, including presenting results to Group/Senior stakeholders for decision-making and performance improvement.
  3. Undertaking liquidity optimisation projects to enhance the liquidity infrastructure, maximising investment liquidity while maintaining risk appetite.
  4. Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders to understand, identify opportunities, and recognise emerging risks related to liquidity.
  5. Collaborating with second line and Group ALM to develop and implement strategies for stress testing liquidity and collateral integrity.
  6. Staying informed about communications with the Prudential Regulation Authority and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  7. Ensuring processes and systems support Group Treasury operations, meet regulatory obligations, and align with Legal & General’s Consumer Duty commitments.
Who we're looking for:
  • A Nearly/Newly Qualified Actuary
  • Strong Excel skills with good data analysis and modelling capabilities
  • Knowledge of UK Financial Markets, including the markets in which Group Treasury operates
  • Experience with Balance Sheet management, e.g., Solvency II or MA, is highly preferable
  • Understanding of Liquidity Risk, including measurement and relevant regulations, is highly preferable
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships across the group
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, tailored to the audience
Benefits:
  • Participation in annual performance-related bonus and share schemes
  • Generous pension contributions
  • Life assurance
  • Private medical insurance (for permanent employees)
  • At least 25 days holiday plus public holidays, with options to buy and sell holiday
  • Competitive family leave
  • Participation in our electric car scheme, offering tax-efficient salary sacrifice options
  • Discounts on products and partner stores
  • Modern, collaborative office spaces designed for wellbeing
