Linux Systems Administrator - Devops / AWS - £40-50k

Desirable: Puppet / Chef / IDE / PHP / LAMP

This leading software technology business has an immediate vacancy for a Linux Systems Administrator. You will work with 3rd party providers, manage hosted Ubuntu servers/desktops, and be responsible for deployment and configuration of applications, services, and networks.

Your primary responsibility will be to monitor their technology platform which relies upon scalable AWS services. They are primarily looking for someone with a passion for Linux and Cloud systems who is keen to learn. You will get to work with configuration management tools and contribute to exciting projects that will boost your career.

Suitable candidates must demonstrate:

1. Experience with Linux Server and Applications, server management, and Linux scripting - implementing LAMP servers and a genuine interest in Open Source technology, Redhat, Fedora, Debian, CentOS, ideally Ubuntu.
2. Experience in a similar role - ideally, proficient with both networking - LAN and WAN concepts, switches and routers, networking and internet-facing systems.
3. Some Cloud experience, ideally AWS, Amazon Web Services, scalable solutions, Puppet / Chef (desirable).
4. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
