Job summary

Anson McCade is seeking an experienced Linux engineer to broaden skills across platform engineering, infrastructure and DevOps in a secure, on-premises environment. You will support and improve Linux-based engineering platforms, ensuring reliability, performance and security for business-critical services.

The role offers exposure to multiple technologies and modern engineering practices. The position is hybrid with three days per week onsite in Leeds, with a salary range of £35,000 to £40,000

Qualifications

• Experience administering Linux-based platforms and infrastructure
• Understanding of networking concepts and secure environments
• Familiarity with Git, Jenkins or similar build/deploy tooling
• Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket is beneficial
• Exposure to Kubernetes and automation tools (Azure DevOps or similar) is advantageous
• Strong troubleshooting and proactive problem-solving approach

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Linux-based platforms supporting engineering teams
• Support internally hosted applications and engineering tooling across secure environments
• Assist with platform deployments, upgrades and ongoing maintenance activities
• Collaborate with software teams to improve build, deployment and configuration processes
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues to ensure high availability
• Contribute to automation and continuous improvement across the platform estate
• Support secure on-premise environments with focus on reliability and performance
