Fully home working opportunity with a Leading Semiconductor firm working on a next generation of microchip developments. This is a long-term (2 years), QDOS assessed OUTSIDE IR35 contract for an experienced developer to work on the next generation of semiconductor industrial applications.

The position offers the chance to work on a next-generation Quad Core processor, focusing on Linux Kernel Device Driver development at the forefront of technology. You will use Yocto 5.0 and later, with opportunities to contribute upstream to the Linux Foundation and open source community maintainers. This is an excellent chance to work with a company that is one of the top open source contributors globally.

Key experience includes writing drivers from scratch. Additional beneficial skills include:

  • Porting BSPs
  • Providing driver support for SOC I.P. Blocks
  • Porting Yocto versions (beneficial)
  • Yocto Project (beneficial)
  • Kernel/Driver development
  • Drivers for complex I.P. (e.g., I2C, PCI, USB3)
  • Back porting driver support to CIP (beneficial)
  • Scarthgap/Dunfell (beneficial)

This project is set to last over 2 years, with fully remote working. The client can arrange interviews with suitable candidates from this week for an immediate start, but is also willing to wait up to three months for the right candidate.

The work is on a fully remote, OUTSIDE IR35 basis. The client offers a straightforward one-stage TEAMS interview process.
