We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our friendly and dynamic team as a Sonographer. The successful applicant will undertake a CASE-accredited Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound through a structured, full-time training programme combining academic study days at the university and clinical placement within the Whipps Cross Hospital ultrasound department. The ultrasound department team is experienced and supportive, facilitating your learning. You will be assigned a supervisor who, along with the Clinical Lead Sonographer and NEL Sonography Practice Educator (subject to funding), will regularly assess your progress and discuss learning objectives throughout the training period.

Upon successful completion of the postgraduate qualification and link grade competencies, you will transition into a Band 7 Sonographer role at the Trust, with the requirement to attain these competencies within 12 months for a PgCert. As a newly qualified Sonographer, you will be supported through a preceptorship programme, after which you will work autonomously within your scope of practice and participate in delivering high-quality ultrasound services.

Main duties of the job

Our Sonographers rotate through all areas, offering a comprehensive range of ultrasound examinations including gynaecology, general abdominal, DVT, and small parts. We support CPD and role development in areas such as MSK, paediatrics, head and neck, neonatal hips, cranial, and carotid ultrasound.

The successful candidate should demonstrate the Trust's values, with excellent patient, team working, and communication skills, and a compassionate, positive attitude. Offers are subject to employment checks and successful university application.

Applicants must hold a 2:1 or above undergraduate degree in a relevant science/healthcare field, possess UK statutory registration with a regulatory body such as HCPC or NMC, and have post-registration clinical experience.
