Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) is seeking a proactive Linen Services Assistant to join the Estates & Facilities team. Based at either the City or QMC Campus, you will work 37.5 hours per week (06:00–14:00, Mon–Fri) with occasional weekend work.

The role involves handling soiled linen, decontamination, folding and packing clean linen, and stock checks to ensure a high quality service. You will operate laundry equipment, record daily issues, follow health and safety policies, and contribute

Qualifications

• Physically fit and able to carry heavy loads
• Knowledge of linen services and regulations
• COSHH procedures knowledge

Responsibilities

• Ensure soiled linen is stored in appropriate areas following safety guidelines
• Perform laundry duties: packing clean linen, sorting soiled linen, operating washers/dryers
• Check stock levels on wards and adjust deliveries using electronic devices
• Record daily issues to wards using Benchmarker software
• Wear clean protective uniform and PPE as required by policy
• Support induction and buddying of new staff
