Linen Porter / Housekeeper

We are now seeking the above to join our lovely team. As Linen Porter you will carry out the task of accepting the linen delivery and organisation of linen rooms across the hotel and Pods.

Main Duties

Reporting to the Head of Housekeeping, you will play your part in making Murrayshall viewed as a great place to stay, work and a great business to invest in. You will maintain consistent standards of service, ensure guest satisfaction whilst create a working environment that supports our values.

  • To support the housekeeping team with collecting linen from occupied bedrooms (stripping bed linen) stocking up fresh linen.
  • To support the housekeepers with cleaning of the rooms, stocking up trolleys and general organisation.
  • To accept the delivery of new linen cages and put away in the main linen room.
  • To organise the linen room and stock up each of the housekeeping cupboards.
  • To collect the linen from each corridor / pantry and get ready for collection the next day.
  • To keep all linen cupboards neat and tidy and organised to the correct standard.
  • To support with ordering and stocktaking of linen.
  • To prep all dirty linen cages, ready for collection.
  • To count and stock take all linen items & towels, and make sure all pantries are stocked with adequate levels and secured.
  • Other duties may arise related to cleaning and preparing the room for the guest such, deep clean, making sofa/ extra bed, set up baby cot, dog kit, cover public areas duties etc.
Communication
  • Have strong communication skills, ensuring clear and effective interaction with guest and team members.
  • To be able to build trust with hotel guests and team members
Driving Performance
  • Be proficient in using inventory management system and basic computer skills.
  • Have strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness and organisation.

  • Have experience of working within a team environment.

  • Be flexible to meet the demands of the job.
  • Come into work each day with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently in fast paced environment.
