Job description

Company Description

The Hoxton, Edinburgh

We can’t wait to open our first UK hotel outside of London…and where better than the characterful capital of Scotland, Edinburgh. We are now looking for a Linen Porter to join our team and play a crucial part in successfully launching our brand in this new neighbourhood. Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, you’ll be responsible for providing an efficient linen service within the hotel.

The Hox in Edinburgh will boast 214 bedrooms influenced by the Georgian heritage of the building and city, a main restaurant, a large lobby & bar, a big event space, and The Apartment - our unique meetings and events concept.

More about us…

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Since opening our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve aimed to offer more than just a bed for the night: style, good value, and vibrant public spaces where guests can hang out with locals.

What's in it for you...

  • Join a passionate team dedicated to creating great hospitality experiences.
  • Competitive hourly salary.
  • 29 days holiday (including bank holidays), pension, and life insurance.
  • Food on us during your shift.
  • Enjoy a free night at The Hoxton and a meal for two upon starting.
  • Ongoing training and development to help you succeed.
  • Time off to volunteer with partner charities.
  • Recognition rewards like Hox Hero and Nifty Fifty.
  • Participation in diversity and inclusion events.
  • Regular team gatherings and parties.
  • Work in a creative, rewarding environment with an innovative international group.
  • Exclusive discounts across The Hoxton and Ennismore family.

What you’ll do…

  • Manage linen, terry, and guest dry cleaning deliveries and collections, reporting discrepancies.
  • Maintain exterior areas, including guest entrances and loading zones.
  • Report maintenance issues in external and public areas via Knowcross.
  • Stock linen and supplies on guest floors, keeping storage areas clean.
  • Adhere to health & safety standards, reporting breaches or hazards.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and handle materials per COSHH regulations.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and support the housekeeping team.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel.
  • Manage inventory for rooms, ensuring items are available and easily locatable.
  • Provide friendly, responsive customer service to guests.
  • Assist with cleaning other hotel areas as needed.

What we’re looking for…

  • Individuals who embrace authenticity and diversity.
  • A passion for hospitality in any form.
  • Aiming to leave a positive, memorable impact on guests and colleagues.
  • Comfortable working without ego, supporting team efforts.
  • Open to trying new approaches and having fun along the way.
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues and guests.
  • Attention to detail and pride in your work.
