Line Cook / Teaching Assistant

Hours: 37 Hours per week / 38 Weeks per year (Subject to change to include August working)

Salary: £18,463 Actual (£22,245 FTE)

Do you want to join our expanding catering department and support the team in making a positive impact on students' education?

We are delighted to offer this exciting new role in our onsite refectory.

As a line cook/teaching assistant, you will play a key part in supporting the Bistro service leader in the running of the college refectory. You will assist with the production of food and support the teaching of the Level 1 -3 Programmes to students, creating a realistic working environment to help students understand the Catering world. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading cooking duties linked to the college refectory, including planning, preparing, and initiating the menu.
  2. Supporting the delivery of culinary teaching programmes.
  3. Creating a real working environment through the effective and efficient running of the college refectory.
  4. Supporting the curriculum team in activities that ensure the kitchen runs smoothly, in line with the standards of a working kitchen in both training and refectory areas.
