Job summary

Terumo BCT in Larne, Northern Ireland, is looking for a Laboratory Systems Technical Specialist to lead the implementation, configuration and deployment of a QC laboratory LIMS within the site’s GMP environment. You will collaborate with QA, IT, the Global Project Team and external vendors to gather requirements, configure workflows, build master data and support data migration, validation and reporting.

This 12‑month fixed‑term contract requires a chemistry‑related degree and experience in GMP

Qualifications

• Experience in GMP-regulated QC laboratory environment.
• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, sample management, testing processes and data management principles.
• Knowledge of computerized system validation, data integrity, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with process mapping, workflow optimisation and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end implementation of the QC laboratory LIMS solution.
• Collaborate with laboratory personnel, QA, IT, the Global Project Team and vendors to gather and document business and user requirements.
• Configure and maintain LIMS workflows, specifications, sample plans, product structures, test methods and reporting tools.
• Build, review and maintain all static and master data required to support QC laboratory operations.
• Support data migration activities including data cleansing, verification and reconciliation.
• Participate in system testing activities including user acceptance testing (UAT), defect resolution and system verification.
• Support computerized system validation activities in accordance with GMP and company requirements.
• Evaluate existing laboratory processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, compliance, data integrity and user experience.
• Develop and implement streamlined workflows that reduce manual activities and improve data visibility.
• Drive standardisation of laboratory processes across functions where appropriate.
• Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements to maximise value from the LIMS platform.
• Establish and maintain accurate laboratory master data, ensuring consistency and compliance.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and metrics to support operational performance monitoring and decision making.
• Support trending and analysis of laboratory data to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Ensure laboratory data structures support regulatory, quality, and business requirements.
• Ensure all activities comply with GMP, data integrity and regulatory requirements.
• Support the creation and review of SOPs, work instructions, validation and training materials.
• Support change control activities related to the laboratory system implementation.
• Provide training and ongoing support to laboratory users.
• Build strong relationships with laboratory, quality, manufacturing, and IT stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and adoption.
