Job summary

Arcus FM is seeking a skilled lighting specialist or electrical-bias engineer to join our facilities management team servicing the Essex, North London and East Anglia regions. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance across a defined portfolio with first-line response to emergencies.

You will perform diagnostic work, ensure health and safety compliance, mentor apprentices, and benefit from a company van, 25 days leave, a pension and ongoing training at our National Training Centre.

Qualifications

  • Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in M&E services/maintenance.
  • Essential Qualifications: 18th Edition.
  • Desirable: F-Gas, Test & Inspection, Unvented.
  • Valid UK driving licence; field-based experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on lighting and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults in electrical equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide technical support across multiple sites.
  • Liaise with customers to deliver outstanding service.
  • Mentor apprentices and junior engineers.

About the Job
  • Performing planned and reactive maintenance on lighting and electrical systems
  • Diagnosing and resolving faults in electrical equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations

  • Supporting and mentoring apprentices and junior engineers
To be successful you will have:
  • Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in M&E services/maintenance
  • Essential Qualifications: 18th Edition
  • Desirable Qualifications: F-Gas, Test & Inspection, Unvented
  • Previous experience in a similar role (retail or commercial experience preferred)
  • Valid UK driving licence (essential)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • IT proficiency and ability to manage workload effectively

  • This is a field-based role, requiring travel between client sites
  • On-call duty required (1 in 4 weeks)
